About Our Founders

In 2015, Kevin and Hilary McCasland moved to Nairobi, Kenya to better understand the challenges faced by missionary families serving overseas. What began as a learning experience soon inspired them to create their own missions organization. They saw firsthand the fulfilling yet challenging reality of missionary life, where many passionate people felt called to the field but lacked the necessary support.

During their time abroad, the McCaslands met a couple eager to serve as missionaries, only to be discouraged when told they didn’t meet their organization’s qualifications. Another friend needed help raising funds for an overseas project but struggled because his church wasn’t equipped to handle the financial logistics.

These stories revealed a clear need for accessible, practical support so that missionaries could focus on their calling without being held back by logistical obstacles.

The McCaslands also observed that while missionaries within larger organizations had access to essential resources, those in smaller settings often faced unnecessary challenges. Determined to make a difference, they envisioned an organization that would equip missionaries with the support they needed to succeed in advancing God’s Kingdom.

In the fall of 2017, Kevin and Hilary partnered with Nathan Smith to form Mission Coalition—a collective of believers united by the mission to further the Great Commission. Mission Coalition began by helping one family enter the field and streamlining funds for an overseas project. Today, the organization has grown to support multiple missionaries and numerous projects worldwide, enabling them to focus on spreading the Gospel and impacting communities.

Mission Coalition exists to help missionaries succeed around the world, working as one body to overcome barriers and bring hope to the world.
